Wayne has been involved in Rotary since 2002 and has been club president for multiple clubs and Rotary District 6400 District Governor in 2015-2016. Wayne and Lisa moved to Douglas in 2022 when Wayne began attending Saugatuck/Douglas Rotary meetings. Wayne’s passion for Rotary shows through his sharing stories of Rotary projects and their impacts He participates in projects here in our local community but also through international water projects in El Salvador and Mexico and through financial support of The Rotary Foundation. Wayne has recently retired from working full-time as a CPA and Investment Advisor Representative with Savant Wealth Management and has jumped into more volunteer work as treasurer for his church. Wayne is an author, speaker and sailor.

Mark has worked in commercial construction and real estate development for more than 32 years, with projects spanning Sedalia, Missouri; Washington, D.C.; and, most recently, St. Louis, Missouri. For the past 20 years, he served as Director of Construction and Partner for a St. Louis development company, where he managed the full life cycle of commercial projects—from site selection and design through construction and completion.

Two years ago, Mark and his wife, Amy, made Saugatuck-Douglas their full-time home after vacationing in the area for many years and falling in love with the community. They have been inspired by the warmth and welcoming spirit of the people here and wanted to become involved by giving back through volunteer service. Mark has always believed that investing your time and talents in your community is one of the greatest gifts you can give. Before moving to Michigan, he was actively involved in church leadership and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.

Outside of work and volunteering, Mark enjoys traveling, cycling, working out with Amy, boating on Lake Michigan, and gathering with friends for great food and conversation.

April Gundy has been part of the fitness and wellness industry for more than 15 years, combining her passion for movement, healthy living, and helping others through Encompass Wellness. At Encompass Wellness, April leads group fitness classes and works one-on-one with clients, helping people build strength, confidence, and sustainable healthy habits.

When April isn’t working out—or encouraging someone else to—there’s a good chance she’s planning an event! April also works part-time as an Event Coordinator for the Saugatuck Douglas Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, where she helps bring community events and experiences to life throughout the Saugatuck-Douglas area.

Her involvement in the community extends well beyond her professional role. April serves as Chair of the Venetian Fest Committee and the Turkey Trot Committee and is a member of the Mt. Baldhead Challenge Committee. Through these roles, she enjoys bringing people together, supporting the local community, and helping create events that celebrate everything that makes the Saugatuck-Douglas area special.

April and her husband, Mike, live in Saugatuck Township, where life outside of work is filled with their dog, Quinn, gardening, and caring for approximately 50,000 bees.

Whether she’s coaching a client, leading a class, organizing a community event, or tending to her garden and bees, April brings energy, creativity, and a genuine love for connecting with people to everything she does.
