Our towns face an unprecedented economic crisis. Heading into the all-important summer season, our retailers have been forced to close by state order and our restaurants are limited to take-out orders only. Unless we support our friends in the restaurant business, many of them may close their doors forever.

Meanwhile, our friends in medicine, health care, pharmacy, grocery retail, police, fire, emergency services, and other front-line essential workers face exhaustion or infection by virtue of their service to us.

The Rotary Club of Saugatuck-Douglas is doing something about both problems now, and we need your help!

We have given $5000 for the “Double-Duty Donations” program led by Saugatuck City Council member Garnet Lewis. This program uses our donations and yours to purchase gift cards for take-out from our restauranteurs and provides them free of charge to recommended essential workers from the local area. Double-Duty Donations has raised about $10,000 in just two weeks, and we want to double that amount in the next 10 days.

A perfect donation is $60.00 for two much-needed and greatly appreciated take-home meals ($30.00 gift card value each).

Please donate directly at Garnet Lewis’ PayPal Account at THIS LINK, and thank you in advance!
